Castle Hill

A marriage of old and new, this project’s scope consisted of a 3-story addition and a sweep of updates to the original side of the home.  The client strongly desired an infusion of their treasured pieces into the space.  Antiques were carefully restored and a new fireplace surround was created to anchor an inherited Norman Rockwell.  The aim was a collected feel.  As project manager, I served as the main point of contact for the client, GC, and subcontractors, overseeing budget and timeline for execution.  As lead designer, I spearheaded the conceptual direction, led the development of all interior drawings (including custom millwork), and sourced materials on both construction and furnishings.

This project is slated for publication in Homes & Gardens UK, early 2026

The raw and unfiltered story of this project is that it was a critical step in my education as a designer, being a case where new build meets renovation meets retrofit meets how do I make all of this make sense together…

And I made the mistake of ordering metal mesh without first seeing a sample - it turned out to be industrial-grade. And a happy accident.
